September Micro Fiction and upcoming radio show- Geelong Cereal needs YOUR help!

I hope you're enjoying this blustery day. I know there is a lot of news coming from Geelong Cereal lately but hey, it's been pretty great news!

Micro fiction and why it matters:

I want to take a moment to explain why the current micro fiction and upcoming radio event are so important to Geelong Cereal, and to appeal for your active involvement. There has never been a more important time for Geelong Cereal and there are a couple of very small ways that you, as a member, can help.

Geelong Cereal is about encouraging writers at any level of experience to have a go. 

Even if all people have time for is a two-sentence story, or a single paragraph, the aim is to get people to experiment, share their work and build a collection of writing together. The monthly micro fiction edition is central to this and it's what we are primarily showcasing when we take to the airwaves early next month. We hope to inspire more community members to take part and write a tiny tale each month. The Pulse, being community radio, is all about giving people a voice, so you see, I am sure, where the common interest lies!

The current structure of the micro-fiction, where established writers and newer/ less confident writers all share work side by side, is very much in keeping with the spirit of this publication. We don’t seek to curate the very finest literature in the land, but to inspire writers at all stages of their creative journey to try new things, to build confidence, have a go, and in doing so, inspire others to do the same.

This is where you come in. Please, spread the word, and submit something to the current micro fiction edition, whether you’re a new writer or your latest book is currently selling on Amazon like chips at the footy.

We want this edition to be the biggest yet!

Very short pieces, such as two sentence stories and fifty word reviews are highly sought after this month to allow more voices to be heard and to inspire potential new contributors to consider all of the wonderful things that can be done with a very small collection of words.
