Geelong Cereal will be live on 94.7 the Pulse FM again, and you're all invited!

We have very exciting news to share this evening, Geelong Cereal writers and readers!

Following last Monday's second on-air discussion, with Ian Campbell and Georgia Kostadinoff on 94.7 the Pulse FM's Monday Front Page, Geelong Cereal is excited to announce that Georgia and the team at the Pulse have invited us back for an evening of live-reading!

The reading will take place as part of the Pulse's upcoming Radiothon, from October 3-10, and will be an evening event (date to be confirmed) running from 6pm-9pm, for Geelong Cereal contributors to attend the station, read their stories on air, (or perhaps read for someone who can't attend), enjoy some drinks and nibbles, and meet some of your local writers and broadcasters alike!

We don't know about you, but we think that sounds like an absolute banger of a time, not to mention an extraordinary opportunity to share our stories with the community and support local radio while we're at it.

While we iron out the details, please email thegeelongcereal@gmail.com to register your interest and let us know what you are thinking of reading, or alternately, what you might want to have read by someone else.

More to the point, get writing, because we will most certainly be featuring stories from the next Microfiction Edition!

While we have your attention, the next Microfiction Edition will be loosely themed "When Nature Turns", in celebration of spring, but as always, this is just a prompt and you are invited to submit any micro stories you like, from two-sentence stories, micro-serials, fifty word reviews, poetry and any other writing up to 300 words. (It doesn't strictly have to be fiction either – we probably need to rename our monthly collection, to be honest – so if you've got a good suggestion, why not submit that too?!)

This month, we will also be accepting a separate category of stories up to 500 words.

Additionally, there will be time to read the first episode of a few of your full-length serials on air, so if you've been thinking of beginning one, there's never been a better time!

Get in touch and give us an indication of what you're thinking of reading, what you've got cooking (if you're planning to submit something new) and anything else you think might be relevant.

In the mean time, stay tuned for updates and share the news!

We now return you to your regular programming.
