Took me ages to make an origami bowl. Not sure I'll add any milk.

There's been a lot going on here at Geelong Cereal. You may have noticed that we have expanded our coverage to include all art forms, so not just creative writing, but visual art too as well as music...and we'll be diving into other areas too. The change has come about because of some feedback we received, mainly that the idea of giving a platform to writers was also a great idea for music artists and visual artists, and so we are giving it a go. We hope you are enjoying it.

Website changes

We have streamlined the website now, so there is really just one tab to go to if you want to search for specific things. This is our new "browse and explore" section. There you'll see our new groupings:

We have also added a FAQs tab too, so hopefully any questions you have can be answered there. But feel free to email us anytime, of course, geelongcereal@gmail.com.

Socials

We have finally got our Instagram and Facebook pages set up. Head over and give us some love! Following us on social media does amazing things for our growth, so please follow, comment, like, anything really.

While we have you...

We had the great pleasure to interview local writer Steve Gray and do a deep dive into two of his short novels, Missing and I Lived Off Easey Street (both are available to read here on Geelong Cereal). Non-professional writers rarely get their work read by many people, and seldom does anyone have a close at look at their style and methods. So, it was great to connect with Steve and take the time to understand his work and what drives him to keep writing. You can read that article here, and let us know if you would like to be profiled too. This is something that we want to do more of.

Speaking of which, we also profiled local artist Alice Winter. Well worth a quick read, here's the link.

Many thanks and great job for subscribing.

Hold on... there’s more
